Hurt, Hurting!!

Hey, ya all, well its Saturday afternoon and it is a beautiful day, Not to hot or cold... I am posting this from my back porch, we brought the chairs from the front to the back and are having a blast just sitting... I am listening to Reachfm radio as i write this... Well it has been one tough week... The Lord is breaking me... I thought I would do it my self...but it seems that the Lord wanted to go deeper "ouch" but somehow I know that it will be alright... God is on the throne and His spirit lives in me... Since coming back from the Pastor's conference in June... I had a change of heart... We revampted our Leadership.... We had an all night prayer meeting.."awesome" the vision I have for CCL is moving foward but the enemy is hot on my trail and God seems to be wanting to teach me a very wonderful yet hard lesson. This is what death feels like... My trust is in the Lord "really" i have nothing to else to hold on to... Jesus is the Rock and I must be broken if God wants to really work out here... My prayer is that i learn very quickly what God wants me to learn and move foward....

I'm Back!!!

EASTER 07

I always get excited about Easter. It is the greatest day on the calendar in my opinion It is the Day that we Celebrate the greatest event in all of history. It is the day that Christ defied death and walked out of the Tomb.

Easter is also a good time for evangelism to take place. There are so many people that need to hear the gospel. So pray about those you are going to invite and step out and do it.

We are going to conduct two services:

One @ 7:15 am (sunrise)

Second @ 10:15 am (regular)

Breakfast in between...

This will be time of major blessings, please pray the God will use each and everyone of us to bring someone to Christ.

Our Leadership Meeting!!

Hey, just to let you know what we have coming up very soon... We had a short leadership meeting on Sunday afternoon and are very excited about what God has in store for us... We started out by ordaining Sofeni Vaeena as my assistant pastor... then in the meeting we determined that we would do two services on Easter 1@ 7:15 am & 2 @ 10:15 am with breakfast in-between. We are also having our Open House on May 6th 2007 @ 6:30 pm all are invited. As far as teaching goes we have just a few short weeks until we will jump in the Gospel of John (see pic above) we will slow way down and really expose what the Apostle John really has for us. We are also in the process of buying projectors for our sanctuary. We had a great time with others involved in our meeting. Our Leadership is as follows

Resurrection Celebration!! 07

Don't forget coming up April 8th is our big resurrection celebration at Calvary: We will have two services with a pancake breakfast served in between. Last yr was amazing and I am looking forward to what God wants to do this yr.. We have a brand new building more chairs and space... Easter is the one time that folks seem to want to go to church. Well be praying for our church as we seek to minister to those who don't know Jesus.

Coming up next week on March 11th we will ordain Sof into the ministry, what a great day the Lord has for us. Sof has been with me for 3yrs and brings a lot of wisdom and faith to our ministry. Starting April 1st we begin Lord willing the book of John... I am so excited to see the Love transform our lives as we dig deep into this book.

Well better be on the road... or at least back to work.

The Lord moves once again!

Well, just wanted to remind you of our veggie tales movie premier this Saturday @ 10:00 am at the showplace 6 movie theatre. An amazing praise!! Rudy the Show Place theater manager prayed to receive Christ on Friday February 16th... Came to Calvary on Sunday of the next week and Loved it.. He has been telling everyone about his salvation!! Way Cool!! Please pray for Rudy... May the Lord continue to use us to do HIS work on earth...

New Lights in the Sancturary

Hey ya'll just got back from working at the church.... We put the Can Lights that we purchased along with all the sound stuff. We finally hung each can light as well as putting new Jells (colored film in front of the light) It really took on a different feel. The ambiance is amazing and the colors really make a very cool look. We are going to purchase a couple more lights and a spot light over our dove. Here are a couple of Pics...

Calvary's Love... Amazing

Hey guys, hope all is well. Sorry i haven't written in a few day's /week's is seems... Well what's new.. Calvary's Love, the cross and the grace of God. Many times I find myself seeking God then for some reason I will stray just a bit off course and then realize where i have been, it only takes a moment but what truly rings so true is God's Grace... the fact that He doesn't toast us and pick some other person to do His work... well it's amazing... I thank God for each and every day that i get to spend with him here on earth. Well I better get to work.

Super Cold Sunday

Hey ya'all well its sunday afternoon and once again it still remains cold. We had a pretty good turn out at church this morning. Sherman is new to the church and wants to help out. Today a few of us are going to play basketball, a local church has graciously let us use their gym. Tonight is SNL and i pray that the Lord would speak to each one who attends. Winter Cold Weather is Here

Hey ya'all the winter cold weather has come, and I sit by the fire wondering if we will be able to have church int the AM. Now when I say "cold" i mean 20 degrees and in the teens for tonight.
We'll God is so good, I have been spending an insane amount of time in the word and prayer, seeking the heart of God, I have come to the realization that the ministry is truly the Lords and not mine. It wasn't until I understood that Peter when he was filled with the Holy Spirit, began to preach and 3000 people got saved. Now what does that mean to me... This Ministry here in Lubbock has to Holy Spirit lead and directed, now i know that sounds elementary but often times we want to take control of our ministry and direct it. Let me exhort you as i was exhorted.
Keep the main thing the main thing, do not allow "anything" get in the way your personal and intimate relationship with Christ. May the Lord richly bless you as we follow Him in this New Year.

Once again God is at "work"

Good Morning, once again I am at work this morning and just found out that my hours have changed and that i will not be doing the AM show starting next week. I am excited about the changes that God wants to bring. Yesterday seem somewhat normal at church as many of our people came back from vacation. I am most eager to start the year with what the Lord wants us to do. So much, I feel is getting lost due to fact that there is no time or we are just to tired to do it. Well tonight the women start their bible study again and the college kids will be coming in soon. Resurrection Sunday is ONLY 89 days away... Must be in Prayer for that.

What is a blog??? When i first heard of blogging i thought that something wierd would happen. But as i see other calvary chapel pastors blogging i decided to create one of my own.
Well it's been 3 yrs since we started the church here in lubbock and God is moving in some mighty amazing ways... We have moved twice since our inception in 2003 and God has bless us in so many ways... We now occupy a 8000 sq ft building right in the center of the city. We give all the praise and glory for what he has done in our lives. Well that's all i have for now. check back soon and i will have more.
