What an Amazing week!!!

Hello all, hope your doing well, what a week we had... as most of you know we had a death in the family and had to go to NM for the funeral... what a week... We found out last Monday and decided to go on Wednesday... I had to prepare for Sunday on Wednesday just in case I didn't have time to study... We left on Thursday at 4:00am yes that's right..4:00am to drive the 6 hr trip to Los Lunas NM.. after the funeral we went to Calvary Abq's book store... then we popped in at Calvary Chapel Rio Rancho... very quiet there... then we made our way to Santa Fe.. Had some dinner at DION's great place... opening soon in Lubbock...yea...

Around 8:00pm we were so tired... I was saying things... i don't recall i said... anyways... Nathalie's brother came over and we didn't get to bed until 11:00pm NM time which would be 12:00am Lubbock time...

Got up the next morning had coffee outside in the cool of the morn...awesome.. went to have some breakfast... visited my dad... made sure he was OK... then around 4:30pm head back to Lubbock... talk about a Rambo trip... I took all day Saturday to recover...

So Sunday came around and we had a great time...God is so faithful... the message was entitled the "Day God Died" out of John 19:16-42... Great worship..

I am so pumped about what's coming up in the next few weeks... I Samuel 12... on Wednesday with communion... Friday brings 4th of July... fireworks and 4th on Broadway...

and Sunday... John 20:1-18... Busy week for the Lord...

Integrity... Wednesday Night Bible Study

In almost every profession there is a renewed call for integrity among leaders. A fresh call to lead with integrity is happening among leaders in law, medicine, business, education, politics, sports, and ministry, not to mention everyday life. Everyone wants leaders with integrity, thinks it’s important and definitely wants it demonstrated toward them. But fewer and fewer leaders seem to value integrity, know what it is, how to develop it, maintain it personally, or demonstrate it professionally.
Some leaders have a view of integrity that is too simplistic.
If they have not had an affair or stolen money, then they have integrity!
Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Maintaining integrity means more than appropriate sexual and fiscal behavior..
Listen while those are important issues, integrity touches all areas of a leaders life.
On Wednesday in our study we will see a man who has so demonstrated this quality trait known as integrity. Samuel is old and gray headed and now is not bowing out but simply taking a back seat role to what Israel wanted… Much like John the Baptist when he spoke of Jesus.. Saying “ I must decrease and He increase”

That's what we will look at on Wednesday Night... so come on out for a great time in worship and God's WORD...

Also remember as we continue our study in John 19... a study I have entitled " The Day God Died! You don't want to miss it... Sunday @ 10;00 am and invite a friend...

Please pray for Nathalie's extended family, She lost an Uncle this week to a heart attack.. Pray for God comfort and peace in that family...

Monday Morning Thoughts...

What a great day we had yesterday... I am so blessed to be a part of Calvary Lubbock... We had a great turn out yesterday and of course the Lord moved in a special way... 3 people gave their heart to Christ for the 1st time... I was blown away.. I love you Jesus...
Don't forget this Wednesday we will be in I Samuel 11.. come out for time in worship and teaching..
Please continue to pray for the Gipson family... Trissy is doing good and hopefully they will be on there way back to Lubbock on Wednesday... We sure miss them...
Also pray for my good friend and Pastor from Amarillo - Bill, he is having one hard week... and it just started... Please Lift him up in prayer...

Hey don't forget men... This Saturday is Men's Breakfast Fellowship... 7:00am- 8:15am... Hope to see you there...It won't be the same without you!
SUNDAY: JOHN 19:1-15.. Final two Trials.. Herod then Pilate... Remember Pilate already found Jesus Not Guilty... yet they continue to want to put Him to death... WHY? SO you and I could be saved... Amen...

Update on Tristan

Hey everyone... here is a quick update on Trissy; Mom and Dad say she is doing good, they took her off the ventilator yesterday and she seems to be doing very well. Mike and Tiffany hopefully got some sleep last night. I talked to Mike last night around 9:30 pm and they were headed over to the Hotel/Ronald McDonald House... Pray for rest for them... Pray for Trissy to recover fast and for Kaedence not to miss mom and dad so much.
Anyways..
Just want to remind you that Tomorrow is the women's brunch at Soozi's Home... come on out for a great time in the word and fellowship/prayer... you don't want to miss it...

Sunday: John 18:28-40 " Who's on Trial?" Several bizarre trials they took Jesus through... But His Mind and Heart were set to redeem us... I love Him for that...

Home Again.

Well, I finally made back home... The flight was not to stressful, just about a 15 minute delay in Dallas. Mike and Tiffany are doing well, Trissy is recovering super... please continue to pray for them.. they might be home next week...

It is very HOT! here in Lubbock... I am studying for tonight's teaching in I Samuel 10... come on out for a great time in worship and in the word...

So back home in Lubbock, missed this place.. so good to "know" where you are going.. I had to use a GPS in San Antonio.. They really work... Trying to do that with just a map... I think i would still be there, looking for the hospital... But anyways... God is Good... and I will see you tonight...

Power of Prayer!

Hello all, God is so Good... What an awesome God we serve.. We spent the day praying on the 1/2 hour for trissy & christi ( margie's daughter) and the Lord is so faithful.. Trissy is now in the Intensive Care Unit and is doing good.. she had a fever last night (around 102 degrees) but the fever broke and right now she is sleeping with no fever.. Mom and Dad are doing good despite getting somewhat lost last night anyways...

God is amazing, as I was driving to the hospital this morning the Lord reminded me that HE IS GOD! We should be so thankful everyday...

I am in San Antonio right now... Tristan just went into surgery.. It seems like it will take a while... Mom & Dad are in good spirits... We are praying on the 1/2 hour.

Home Sweet Home

Hello, well i made it... back home that is... I missed you guys like everything... Heard we had some "Interesting Challenges" this week... Spiritual warfare to say the least... but God is good...

As I was flying in last night, it was kinda late... around 10:30pm.. and I saw the lights of Lubbock.... The Lord spoke ever so gently... People need me here, He said... As I look across the city.. I proclaimed " This will be my city and these will be my people" They need Jesus like never before... Time is running out... the enemy is attacking from within and without... PLEASE be ready...

Well had a great time in SoCal at the Sr Pastors conference..The Lord spoke so clearly to me.. Now the conference was titled Pastoring in the Last days... But the Lord spoke to me 3 things...

Now I prayed for each item the Lord spoke about..

1. I needed a Heart for evangelism: I asked for a double portion..

2. I need a heart for teaching: to make disciples of Jesus

3. I need a heart of a shepherd: its a labor of Love...

So please pray and we will see what God is going to do here in Lubbock...

Hey don't forget.. SUNDAY is VISION SUNDAY! Just finished power point on the message... come out and bring a friend... The gospel will be preached.... That's this Sunday.. 10:00am

Senior Pastor's Conference 2008

Hello all, just soaking it all in... I have had a great time sitting at the feet of the Lord... He is teaching me so much... It has been such a wonderful time... But I miss you guys so much... can't wait to come home tomorrow...

Right now @7:54pm listening to Norman Geisler teach on the Emergent church... Amazing... we then get to preview the new movie from Pastor Greg Laurie called " Lost Boy" I bought the book at Harvest the other day... Should be a great outreach tool.
